Two calendars, one set of events
Emitii has two calendar views that share the same events:
- Schedule is the calendar inside a space. It holds the meetings, deadlines and milestones for that client, project or team. Marketing pages call it Events.
- My calendar is your personal view, labelled Events in the left rail. It shows events from every space you belong to, plus the cards and to-dos assigned to you, and any personal events you add.
Because both read from the same place, an event created in a space shows up for every invitee without anyone copying it across.
Creating events
- Views: month, week and day, in both Schedule and My calendar.
- All-day events for deadlines, launches or leave.
- Invitees: add the people who should attend.
- Comments: each event has its own comment thread for agendas, notes and follow-ups, with @mentions and attachments.
- Due dates as chips: card and to-do due dates appear on the Schedule, so deadlines and meetings sit on one calendar.
Recurring events
Set an event to repeat Daily, Every weekday, Annually, or on a custom "Repeat on" pattern. When you edit a recurring event, choose whether the change applies to "This event", "This and following" or "All events". A weekly client call on a custom "Repeat on" pattern is set up once and stays on everyone's calendar.
RSVP per occurrence
Invitees answer Yes or No. Answers are per occurrence, so someone can decline next Tuesday's standup without dropping out of the whole series.
Meeting room booking
Admins define the company's physical rooms, with a name and capacity, in Admin > Meeting Rooms. Anyone creating a Schedule event can pick a room, and Emitii checks availability before booking it. Back-to-back bookings do not collide, so one meeting ending at 10:00 and the next starting at 10:00 is fine.
Meeting rooms are for booking physical spaces. For an online meeting, paste the meeting link into the event description. Voice and video calls are coming soon to Emitii.
Google Calendar overlay
You can connect your primary Google Calendar to My calendar as a read-only overlay. Your Google events appear next to your Emitii events so you can see conflicts. Emitii reads them live and does not store them, and you can disconnect at any time. The overlay is one-way and private to you, so your Google events stay in Google.
How it connects to the rest of the workspace
- Tasks and the Board. Due dates on cards and to-dos appear on the Schedule and on assignees' My calendar. See tasks and the board.
- Home. Your Home page lists what is overdue and what is upcoming across all spaces.
- Notifications. Invites and changes reach people through the bell, Web Push and email, following each person's notification settings.
- Emit. In a space, the AI can list, create, update and delete events after your approval. "What is on the schedule this week?" is one of its starter prompts. See the AI assistant.
- Guests. Clients invited as guests see the meetings they are invited to, since inviting a guest shares the event with them. A space can also open every meeting to its guests.
A typical week on the calendar
A project lead opens the space Schedule on Monday and sees the client review on Wednesday, two card due dates on Thursday and the recurring Friday retro. They add a workshop for next week, invite the client's two contacts, book the large meeting room and write the agenda in the event's comments. Each invitee sees the workshop on My calendar straight away and answers Yes or No. If someone connected Google Calendar, a clash with a personal appointment shows up on their overlay before they reply.
Who uses it
Event companies build the run of show on a space Schedule, with vendor meetings and site visits on the same calendar. Consulting firms schedule client workshops and book the office meeting room in one step. Distributed teams use recurring events for standups and the per-occurrence RSVP to plan around time off. The guide on running weekly team meetings covers agendas and follow-up.
