Team collaboration where the conversation stays with the work

How can a team collaborate without scattering work across chat, email and documents?

Team collaboration works best when conversations, tasks and documents sit together. Emitii gives each project or team a space where the group chat (Pulse), the Board, to-do lists, Docs & Files and the Schedule share one place, while direct messages cover conversations that belong to no single space.

What problem does this solve?

Most teams talk in one tool and work in another. A decision is made in chat, the task that follows lives in a project tool, and the document it refers to sits in a shared drive. A week later, someone asks why a change was made, and the answer is buried in a thread in a different app.

The result is familiar: repeated questions, missed updates, and meetings held only to get everyone on the same page. The more tools a team adds, the more places a piece of information can hide. The glossary entry on team collaboration covers the idea in general terms.

Who has this problem?

  • Project teams where designers, writers, developers and managers all touch the same piece of work.
  • Remote and hybrid teams that rely on written communication because they cannot tap someone on the shoulder.
  • Growing companies that added a chat tool, a task tool and a drive one at a time and now have all three.
  • Managers who spend their week relaying information between people and tools.

How is it usually handled?

The usual answer is a chat tool with many channels, plus a task tool, plus a file drive, plus email for anything formal. Teams write rules about which tool to use for what. Some paste links between tools so that a task points at a chat thread and a chat thread points at a document.

What are the limits of that?

  • Channels drift away from projects. A chat channel and a project board are two separate things that someone has to keep in sync.
  • Important updates get lost. A long announcement posted in a busy chat scrolls away within the hour.
  • Links go stale. Pasted links break when files move or permissions change.
  • Nothing is in one place. Catching up after a week off means reading four tools.

How does Emitii solve it?

In Emitii, collaboration happens inside a space, the container for one client, project or team. Each space has its own chat, work and files, so the conversation cannot drift away from the project.

  • Pulse, the space chat. Every space has Pulse, a group chat with threads, @mentions, "Notify everyone", reactions, pinned messages, file attachments and link previews. It also appears in Messages under Channels. See team communication.
  • Comments on the work itself. Cards, to-dos, events, posts and docs share one comment system with @mentions, attachments and reactions, so feedback stays on the item it is about.
  • Posts for longer updates. Posts are announcements inside a space, with a title, a formatted body, pinning and comments. They do not scroll away like chat.
  • Direct messages and groups. Chats covers one-to-one and group conversations for anything that does not belong to a space.
  • Shared documents. Docs & Files keeps briefs, notes and uploads in the space, with comments on docs.
  • Personal follow-up. Save a message for later, set "Remind me" on it, or mark it unread. Home lists what needs you across every space.

Notifications can be set to "Everything", "Involved" or "Just me", with quiet hours and per-space mutes, so people are not flooded. Inside a space, you can @emitii in Pulse or a comment to ask the AI to summarise a thread or catch you up, and it asks before changing anything. Voice and video calls, screen sharing and voice notes are coming soon.

What does the workflow look like?

  1. Create a space for each project or team, and add the people who work on it.
  2. Use Pulse for daily talk. Start a thread for each topic so side discussions do not bury the main chat.
  3. Move decisions onto the work. When chat produces an action, create a card or to-do and continue the discussion in its comments.
  4. Post the important things. Use Posts for weekly updates, decisions and anything people must read, and pin the ones that stay relevant.
  5. Keep documents in the space. Write or upload them in Docs & Files and comment there instead of in chat.
  6. Catch up from Home and Activity. Home shows what needs you; the space Activity feed shows what changed.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pulse in Emitii?
Pulse is the group chat inside each space. It has threads, mentions, reactions, pinned messages and file attachments, and it shows in Messages under Channels.
What is the difference between Pulse and Posts?
Pulse is for quick, ongoing conversation. Posts are longer announcements with a title, which can be pinned and commented on and do not scroll away.
Can I send direct messages in Emitii?
Yes. Chats supports direct messages and group conversations for workspace members. Guests talk with the team in a space's Guest Pulse.
Does Emitii have video calls?
Not yet. Voice and video calls, screen sharing and voice notes are coming soon to Emitii.
Can I control how many notifications I get?
Yes. Choose Everything, Involved or Just me, set quiet hours, pause everything or mute a space. Notifications arrive in-app, by push, as desktop banners or by email.
